When you become a Steamfitter Pre-Apprentice, you begin to learn a trade that will be with you throughout your life! You'll be working next to accomplished tradespeople and learn what it means to do that job. We are dedicated to getting the job done- but we have a good time in the process!
Within 4-6 months, we'll talk with you about how you're doing and then we'll decide to sponsor you for an apprenticeship and will help you through that process. You'll make money while you're learning- and we pay for your training!
The commitment to this process is several years. If that doesn't fit your lifestyle, then this may not be the best role for you.

What will you do in your job?
- Learn how to layout, assemble, install, pipe systems, pipe supports or related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment
- Located and mark bending/cutting lines onto work piece
- Use hand torch and/or furnace
- Position, align and fit together parts
- Hammer, chip and grind work piece to cut, bend and straighten metal
- Deliver material to job sites
- Assist in the loading, unloading, and organized storage of materials
What do you need to do this job?
- Current, valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good communication and analytical skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Obtain passing scores on the Accuplacer | Show strong ACT scores
- Mathematical competence and strong reading comprehension
- Physical ability to climb, crawl, lift heavy items and work in a variety of environments, including indoor/outdoor, hot/cold weather, confined spaces, heights, etc. (any necessary safety training will be provided before entering these environments)
