About the Job
In this role you will be responsible for...
Grant writing and application submittals:
+ Coordinate, develop, and submit quality grant proposals, applications, and supporting materials, consistent with stated requirements and guidelines.
+ Research, draft, and refine applications and supporting materials.
+ Gather and synthesize information for proposals.
+ Able to translate complex information into practical communications, write for various audiences, and use creative and technical writing, as well as data-driven research, to communicate the organization’s programs and goals.
+ Provide writing that is clear, concise, and analytic, as well as persuasive and compelling.
+ Create and maintain a library of background material, templates, and data, such as organization and community history, programs, objectives, culture, economy, demographics , funding sources and financials.
+ Adapt these materials to meet individual grant requirements.
Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders:
+ Meet regularly with department staff to discuss funding needs and opportunities; summarizing and c ommunicating funding opportunities to department management to confirm interest.
+ Provide project management for grant applications, scheduling and hosting project meetings, ensuring timely submissions, as well as quality and accuracy of application materials.
+ Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
+ Request feedback from stakeholders and reviewing agencies to improve future submissions.
+ May partner with other organizations to share grant resources and responsibilities.
Research and identify appropriate funding opportunities:
+ Seek and identify funding opportunities that align with SCG mission and assess feasibility.
+ Work with departments to maintain repository of projects to proactively match with opportunities.
+ Identify and participate in relevant webinars and training opportunities.
Process Management and reporting:
+ Use technology and processes to track funding opportunities and projects and manage deadlines.
+ Analyze and measure results to guide future program activity.
+ Report on program performance and overall effectiveness to leadership and the Board.
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
+ Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
+ Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
+ This position does have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule after meeting the 6-month probationary period. Ask during the interview for more information on this!
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Communications, English, Journalism, or Public Administration.
+ Three (3) year of professional job-related experience.
+ -OR- Master's degree may county for one year of work experience.
+ -OR- Seven (7) years of professional job-related experience in management of technical projects/programs and strategic planning may substitute for the required education.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Grant writer/grant management certification.
+ Two (2) or more years of professional research, writing, and editing experience.
+ Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and operations of local government.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software tools, comfortable learning new technology.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $66,000.00 - $73,000.00, based upon related experience.
