Objective:
This position aims to improve further the efficiency and accuracy of the Develop process at Boxman Studios. This team leader position will be responsible for all aspects of the pre-building process; creating a schedule supported by work orders, abom, and securing the materials for the on-floor actions. You will be responsible for reconciling the labor hours being received back from the floor against the work orders.
Pre-Production Supervisor
Summary:
The Pre-Production Supervisor guides, directs, and coaches the pre-production employees to produce the information and materials required to allow the Production team to manufacture high-quality structures efficiently and safely at a sufficiently high volume to meet production standards with minimal waste. Provides work direction and leadership to pre-production employees within the guidelines of standard work rules and employment policies. Oversees day-to-day operations of the pre-production group including making personnel decisions and ensuring performance, behavior, and policy compliance.
Responsibility
- Work with the Production team to plan and schedule production runs to meet customer demands.
- Convert estimates into work orders with advance bills of material
- Create and populate the routing of the work orders
- Manage the creation of shop drawings to support work orders
- Lead purchasing to create an inventory to support work orders and feed production
- Compare actual labor hours to forecasted and report deviations for analysis to determine cause and corrective action.
- Achieve pre-production goals at the required level of quality
- Communicate with staff to ensure a smooth flow of information and products to achieve pre-production and production goals.
- Communicate with the VP of manufacturing where necessary to modify and improve efficiency.
- Monitor pre-production processes and proactively identify and address barriers
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve through root cause analysis.
- Communicate with other departments and help drive better working relations
- Lead, motivate, and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance concerns.
- Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interest and strengths.
- Empower employees to take responsibility for their careers and performance
- Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization
- Maintaining records for site personnel such as daily production reports, work orders, and RFI's.
- Measure and report outcomes to leadership on a regular basis
- Consistently exemplify the highest safety standards and monitor others to the same standards.
- Ensure that all Boxman Studios policies and procedures are adhered to by all teammates.
- Approve or deny employee time off requests
- Work with the human resource department for staffing needs and conduct first face-to-face interviews
- Other duties as assigned.
