Position Overview
The Office of Sponsored Programs is seeking to hire a Pre-Award Analyst to join our team. The primary goal of this position is to ensure timely, effective and efficient functioning of sponsored proposal submission. The Analyst will provide guidance to researchers for basic proposal development and submission by interpreting and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to make independent judgments and to act on decisions on a daily basis
- Ability to work with flexibility on several tasks simultaneously and to meet various concurrent deadlines
- Knowledge of external Federal guidelines/procedures for grants and contracts
- Proficient in the use of software applications and Microsoft Office programs (excel, word, etc.)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, problem solving abilities and attention to detail required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

- Experience and working knowledge of grant administration including federal and state regulations.

Job Duties:
- To provide specialized, technical assistance to research faculty and staff in reviewing and approving proposals for external funding from private, State and Federal, and local sponsors.
- Provide review and interpretation of proposal guidelines and applicable federal and state statutes and guidelines.
- Identify and document financial commitments of the institution such as cost share or F&A waiver, and ensure appropriate approvals are in place prior to proposal submission.
- Ensure proposal compliance with the RFP, and any applicable regulations, statutes, guidelines, and institutional policy, prior to submission.
- Act as the interface for UNTHSC faculty and administration with all external sponsored project funding sources with regard to proposal submission and review.
- Maintains knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Involve more senior members of the pre-award team for direction, as needed. Other duties may be performed.

- Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
