Premium Billing Specialist - Healthcare organization - Murray, UT
Responsibilities
- Provide superior customer service while completing premium billing functions.
- Analyze, research, and solve billing-related issues.
- Handle customer phone inquiries and provide accurate information.
- Complete daily outbound calls as assigned.
- Receive inbound calls from customers and resolve issues on the initial call or provide timely follow-up.
- Follow established criteria for response time, call handling time, and availability.
- Stay current with billing policies and procedures.
- Navigate multiple complex computer systems with minimal supervision.
- Answer questions, take payments, and educate members on billing and payment processes.
- Notify members of delinquent accounts through outbound phone calls.
- Assist members in enrolling in the online billing and payment system.
- Maintain the confidentiality of member personal information.
- Verify customer eligibility for reinstatement review and complete required documentation.
- Work closely with other departments to correct member accounts.
Essential Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Good phone voice and strong communication skills.
- One year of customer service experience.
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing software.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and work well under pressure.
- Self-motivated and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in call centers, banking customer service, or as a barista.

Work Environment
This role is fully onsite at our Murray location. Training is typically scheduled from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Post-training schedules may start anywhere between 8 AM and 11 AM MST and may occasionally include rotating Saturdays. You will have two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch break each day. We hold a weekly team huddle and a monthly staff meeting, although these are on hold during Open Enrollment.
