SURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Prep Cook for a client in Bartlett, IL. The Prep Cook will join the R&D team and lead all the daily preparation and setup of meals for employees. Responsibilities will include preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining safety and efficiency in the kitchen area, and complying with health and safety regulations. The Prep Cook will delegate tasks to kitchen staff to promptly prepare meals. They should have familiarity with sanitation regulations.

Available shifts include 7:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday
Responsibilities of the Prep Cook:
- Preparing meals and food to meet the specifications of guests in a timely manner
-Properly measuring kitchen ingredients and food portions
-Ensuring kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements
-Using kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers and warmers in food preparation
-Managing the kitchen inventory and ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality
-Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward
-Keeping the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized
-Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef
Qualifications of the Prep Cook:
-Proven previous experience in kitchen (Entry level/prep cook)
-Previous hands-on experience with kitchen equipment (knives, grills, ovens, etc.)
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
-Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
-Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
-Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
-Familiarity with sanitation regulations
-Some basic English will be preferred but not necessary for this role
