Program Description
Felton’s Bayview Multi-Service Resource Drop-In Center provides support individuals experiencing homelessness throughout San Francisco. This program provides various amenities orchestrated by our Peer Advisors, who are well versed in the needs of clients and how to navigate through San Francisco’s Homeless Response System (Via trainings conducted by HSH). The clients can drop-in daily to take advantage of free meals, hot showers, laundry facilities at no-cost as well as access to substance abuse programs, job search and housing assistance. Clients can also receive mail at our location during business hours and its securely locked and managed by our administrative staff. We also offer 50 spots for clients to rest on a nightly basis that is safe (Security on site 24-7), clean (On-site roaming janitorial staff) and peaceful (“Serenity Room” for physically/mentally vulnerable to ensure our clients can rest peacefully.) Clients can engage in games, activities or simply debrief from long days with television and some quiet time. Our clients come back religiously every night because we treat each client with respect and promote a familial atmosphere in our Drop-In center
Job Description
- This position is responsible for assistance in meal preparation and food service while working under the supervision of the Chef on shift, in accordance with all policies/procedures.
- This position requires that all health/safety practices according to the Food Safety Guidelines are followed while providing meal service.
- Position may require assistance in Washing/sterilizing dishes, Pots/pans, small appliances and cleans kitchen after food preparation. according to established procedure.
- Aids in maintaining supply of foods needed for earthquake preparation according to established procedure.
- Cleans and tidies counter tops, shelves, food/equipment storage areas daily.
- Helps to maintain a stocked kitchen pantry by keeping products organized. Store dry/bulk foods in designated containers
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good English verbal and written communication skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in food service (in an institutional setting preferred)
- Willingness to obtain Food Handle’s Certification and participate in ongoing health/safety and nutrition training

Salary Range: $25.00 p/hour USD Hourly (DOE)
