Prep Cook at Kikka Sushi

Kikka sushi is looking for energetic, hardworking, dependable, team players that will provide great customer service in our new location in the Whole Foods located at: 520 Chestnut Ridge Road, Woodcliff Lake, NJ 07677.

Full Time  only, 5 days a week with week days off (must work all Saturdays and Sundays), between the hours of 7am – 4pm (includes an hour unpaid meal break).

The Food Prep / Cook will make sushi in advance and per customer's request.  No experience making sushi, no problem we will teach you!  The team member will also do prep work, prepare other Asian foods and maintain a clean and neat environment while helping customers in a fun, fast paced, exciting environment.

To thrive you must show up to work on time and as scheduled, have a flexible morning and evening availability, be willing to work hard (this isn’t an easy job), be patient (it takes about 3 months to get comfortable with the job), must be willing to stick it out (not quit after a few days or weeks) and be able to work with multi-cultural and multi-lingual co-workers, some who barely speak English. 

Pay is $16.00 $18.00 per hour depending on food handling and sushi making experience.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrate great customer service skills
• Be familiar with sushi (hint, it’s not just raw fish)
• Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work all Saturdays, Sundays and holidays
• Be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Be 18 years of age or older

Preferred experience:

• Working in quick service restaurants, supermarkets or fast paced environments
• Food handling experience and food handler certification
