Preschool Lead Teacher - Andover YMCA

Description:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Uphold the YMCA mission, vision and values as well as display the Character Development core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
- Ability to effectively supervise participants and maintain safety standards
- Ability to work accurately at a fast pace
- Ability to communicate effectively: both oral and written
- Ability to handle all questions and concerns and resolve conflicts in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment; and the desire to work with all ages, especially children
Planning
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities
- Plan in advance and turn into your Teacher/Director weekly lesson plans and supply needs
- Post-current lesson plans in classroom at all times
- Develop a daily schedule that provides a balance of active and quiet activities, individual and group times
- Arrange the classroom to provide for learning centers and rotate toys routinely
- Monitor children's developmental progress through observation records, checklists, daily reports, and formal assessments
Parent Communication
- Maintain positive, open relations with all families
- Address and greet parents by name upon arrival and departure
- Reinforce daily to parent and child the successes and positive behaviors exhibited
- Visit with parents and keep record of all behavior concerns as may arise
- Communicate all concerns and provide written documentation of all concerns to Lead Teacher/Director
