About the Job
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Summary: Set up, operate, and tend machines to
manipulate various materials for use in assembly of ventilation systems,
stall systems, and other J&D Manufacturing products. Responsibilities:
1.Read, interpret, and understand work orders, blueprints, and
production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to
be used, locations of cutting and bending lines, dimensions, and
tolerances. 2.Load work pieces into machines. 3.Verify with work order,
blueprints, and lead that the first part is correct before proceeding
with the entire batch or run. 4.Set up, operate, and tend machines to
cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, drill, straighten, or
manipulate various materials. 5.Start machines, monitor their
operations, and record operational data. 6.Coordinate distribution of
finished work orders to subsequent departments. 7.Verify machine has
been inspected and is in operational order before using, such as
completing an operation checklist and certifying that proper safety
guards are in place. 8.Perform necessary quality checks as required.
9.Assist shipping and receiving department in the efficient removal of
materials from containers. 10.Assist lead with certain servicing
operations. 11.Follow all safety precautions and use protective
equipment as required. 12.Identify and immediately correct any safety
hazards in work area. 13.Communicate with and assist other workers in
work area. 14.Follow good housekeeping practices. 15.Assist in
identifying and resolving quality issues. 16.Perform any other duties as
assigned. 17.Responsible for generating team spirit and creating and
maintaining a personal attitude and work environment that fosters the
highest level of employee cooperation, morale and satisfaction.
Requirements: Experience in manufacturing and metal fabrication is
