Job Description
Summary: The Press Brake Operator reports directly to the shift Forman or Leadsman with the primary responsibilities of pressing and forming material job card using die sets as specified. Follows company policy and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Comply with all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand job cards.
- Ability to maintain and inspect equipment, specifically for hydraulic oil.
- Comply with company Housekeeping policies and standards to maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
- Ability to meet all company quality standards.
- Ability to perform other duties assigned.
- Ability to perform tasks in a competent manner.
- Ability to know how to work with presses and dies.
- Ability to prepare and run complex bend set ups and forming operations. This includes custom die modifications in combination with other tooling.
- Knowledge of fabricating steel.
- Is certified and demonstrates the ability to safely operate a lift truck.
- Is certified and demonstrates the ability to safely operate an Overhead Crane.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools such as: grinder, hammer, wrench and pry bar.
- Ability to read prints and drawings.
- Ability to work well with others including all levels of management.
- Understands OD/ID
- Understands metric measurements and standard measurements.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and written.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Tolerate working outside in severe conditions as well as exposure to high temperatures, noise, and dust.
- Able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach for extended periods of time on a daily basis.
- Frequent lifting and/ or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Lifting devices are available and recommended.
- Able to exceed a 40-hour week.
- Ability to wear proper PPE as required.
Hours: 1st shift hours - 5:00 am to 3:30 pm
2nd Shift hours - 3:30 pm to 2:00 am/Shift Diff. $1.50 hr./total pay $27.36 hr.
3rd shift hours - 2:00 am to 12:30 pm/Shift Diff. $2.50 hr./total pay $28.36 hr.
(working 10 – 20 hrs. overtime or more weekly – overtime accumulates after 8 hrs. a day)
