As a Pressure Relief Valve Technician Trainee, you'll be learning the ropes of pressure relief valve maintenance, testing, and problem solving. If you have mechanical aptitude and the willingness to learn, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside our seasoned Technicians. You will have the tools, resources, and training to ensure your success. We're looking for someone with a great attitude who is motivated to learn a trade and develop a long-term career.

You must have a valid driver's license in good standing, and an excellent driving record. This is a safety-sensitive position. You are required to pass a pre-screen drug test that includes testing for marijuana, and may be subject to random testing.
Hiring Range
The hiring range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 (base) p/hour + Quarterly Profit Sharing.This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.
What you'll be doing:
- Local pick up and delivery of valves.
- Sandblasting, teardown and cleanup of valves.
- Lapping, Assembly, Tagging
- Sealing procedures including pre and post-testing valves.
- Learning industry terminology and write-up processes.
What we're looking for:
High School diploma
2+ years of experience of general mechanical competency
Attention to detail; we work in a zero tolerance for error industry
Good memorization skills
Good physical strength and ability
Basic math skills
Basic computer skills: MS Outlook and ability to navigate and comprehend basic applications
Great communication skills and a dedication to customer and service excellence
Must have a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record
Must be able to pass random drug testing, including hair follicle testing
Ability to work overtime as needed, including periodic overnight and out of state travel

Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Position requires frequent reaching, twisting, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching and squatting. Good visual and auditory acuity. Ability to understand and safely use hand tools. Use of Personal Protective Equipment when required. Proper use of hand tools. Ability to work on elevated platforms and confined spaces. Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Travel:
Must be available to work overtime including periodic out of state travel.
