About the Job
Seeking BE/BC Family Medicine Physician to join practice in Framingham, MA as a primary care provider and APP Trainer.
The APP Trainer will work in a hybrid role that will include training newly hired Advanced Practice Providers while also providing medical services for patients. The APP Trainer is a member of the clinical practice team and works collaboratively with other team members in providing patient care. This is a full-time role that will include 20 hours of direct patient care and 20 hours of APP support, training, education, and professional development.
Training Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train and evaluate new Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant).
- Perform chart reviews based on an established schedule:
- All charts for the first month of a new hire's employment.
- Up to 10 chart reviews for each month following.
- Coordinate MAVEN services which include:
- Coordinate CME educational sessions with site medical directors.
- Meet with APP assigned MAVEN mentor at designated times to begin after new APP's 3rd month of employment.
- Observe and shadow APP.
- Evaluate APP based on competencies including:
- History taking.
- Physical exam skills.
- Analyzing data.
- Management/plan formation.
- Procedures.
- Problem solving hazards and biases.
- Medical practice and principles.
- Provide constructive feedback to APP for the course of two years and possibly longer as the APP develops the role.
- Support organizational compliance and training requirements and work with APP's to complete any required or newly required trainings.
- Participate in Administrative Projects as assigned by the Medical Director.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide direct medical care for four sessions per week, complete clinical administrative work four hours per week.
- Adhere to established protocols, responds to medical emergencies within the facility assigned.
- Assists/instructs other health care employees in the management of client care.
- Make referrals to health care professionals, specialists, other clinics and community agencies.
