About the Job
The Building People are seeking a qualified PRIMAVERA P6 System Administrator to provide the following:
· Provide administrative support services across the Primavera P6 product, including project planning, construction planning, planning engineer and project scheduler.
· Project Planner; Project Planners will be essential in the initial and ongoing phases of project management. Planners will develop detailed project plans, including scope, goals, and deliverables. Using Primavera, one must create schedules, allocate resources, and establish timelines to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Also monitor project progress, update schedules, and make adjustments as needed.
o Project Planner must have both technical and soft skills to manage projects effectively using Primavera. Key skills will include: a) Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Primavera and other Project Management tools. b) Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze project data and make informed decisions. c) Communication: Solid verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders and team members. d) Time Management: Excellent organizational skills in managing multiple tasks and deadlines. e) Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying potential issues and developing effective solutions. f) Attention to Detail: Precision in creating and updating project schedules and plans.
· Construction Planner; Construction Planners focus on the construction industry, using Primavera to develop detailed schedules and plans for construction projects. The construction planner must coordinate with Architects, Engineers, and Contractors to ensure all project aspects align with the overall timeline and budget. Construction Planner may manage site activities, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and minimize project delays.
o Skills of Construction Planner: Construction Planners apply a specific set of skills tailored to the demands of the construction industry. Essential skills will include: a) Industry Knowledge: Understanding of construction processes, materials, and regulations. b) Project Management: Proficiency in using Primavera to schedule and manage construction projects. c) Coordination Skills: Ability to work efficiently with diverse teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors. d) Risk Management: Expertise in identifying and mitigating risks associated with construction projects. e) Detail-oriented: Precision in tracking project progress and ensuring all activities are on schedule. f) Problem-solving: Capability to address on-site issues and adapt plans as necessary.
· Planning Engineer; Planning Engineers will develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all activities are logically sequenced and time bound. Engineers will collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather necessary information, define tasks, and estimate durations. Engineers will monitor progress, update schedules, and provide forecasts to identify potential delays or risks.
o Skills of a Planning Engineer: a) Proficiency in Primavera P6: Mastery of Primavera P6 software is essential for creating and managing complex project schedules. b) Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze project data, identify trends and forecast potential issues c) Communication Skills: Strong communication skills. They are necessary to collaborate effectively with various project stakeholders. d) Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail ensures accuracy in project scheduling and reporting. e) Problem-solving Skills: Ability to anticipate problems and develop solutions. This skill is critical to keep the project on track. f) Time Management: Efficiently manage time to balance multiple project schedules and deadlines.
· Project Scheduler; Project Schedulers will focus on the timing and sequencing of project tasks, ensuring each activity is planned and executed at the right time. Schedulers will develop project timelines, assign resources, and monitor progress to keep projects on schedule. Using Primavera P6, Schedulers will create detailed plans, track progress, and update schedules as needed.
o Skills of a Project Scheduler: a) Proficiency in Primavera P6: Expertise in using Primavera P6 for developing and managing project schedules. b) Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to handle complex schedules and manage multiple tasks with efficiency. c) Attention to Detail: High level of detail orientation to ensure the accuracy of schedules and resource allocation. d) Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze schedule data and identify critical path activities. e) Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders and provide clear updates on project progress. f) Problem-solving Skills: Capability to identify scheduling conflicts and develop solutions to maintain project timelines.
Experience
- At least five (5) years of experience with Primavera P6 support services
- Experience working within a Federal Government contract for technical services delivery
- Experience with using Confluence, Jira, Sharepoint, Kanban, and other industry tools
- Experience with SAFe/Agile and SCRUM delivery methodology
- Experience in workplace management, facilities assessment and management, lease administration, project management, and/or other real property management
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidance
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

- Ability to meet Federal & DoD Gov’t security background checks, HSPD-12, Fingerprinting, plus agency-specific screening.
- Experience working within Federal and DoD IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) teams that may be matrixed across several programs.
- Operate within a NIST 800-171 compliant security environment internally and able to support all client-required cyber security data and operational processes. Value and protect company, colleague, and customer data.
- Occasional travel requirements for client deliverables and/or meetings.
- Potential exists for field verification site visits across client portfolio.
- Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management Certificate
- Current Top Secret clearance.
