Aerospace Systems sector is seeking a Tool Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Iuka, MS.   The Tool Engineer will be a motivated project lead and team player to implement and assist major tooling operations for the assembly line. Typical candidate has a background/experience/education in project management for small and large projects in the manufacturing/mechanical engineering field and coordinating major events that rely on strong planning, leadership and great communication.

Lead Managing all phases of project: design, document, fabricate, assemble and validate Core Competencies - Manufacturing Methods - Knowledge of manufacturing, methods, fabrication processes (e.g., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, machines/machine tools, cutting tools and fluids, N/C programming, instrumentation, data acquisition and control systems). Ability to select the best method of producing parts, tools or assemblies. Verifiable performance record that includes the various aspects of assembly line operation - Coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external. Computer Aided Design Tools - Basic knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design / computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files). Engineering Drawings & Specs - Basic ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Basic level understanding of GD&T.

Basic Qualifications: 

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of experience production assembly/fabrication (aerospace preferred) including but not limited to, composites, metallic, coatings application, and production manufacturing operations OR a Master's Degree with 3 years of experience production assembly/fabrication (aerospace preferred) including but not limited to, composites, metallic, coatings application, and production manufacturing operations
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors
• Ability to work any shift

Preferred Qualifications:            

• STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical)
• Experience designing in 3D CAD e.g. CATIA, NX, CREO etc.  Has a firm understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up
• Experience managing projects (Cost, schedule and technical performance).  Understanding of Coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external.
• Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment
• Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment
• Composite experience and process knowledge
• Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred

Salary Range: $79,800 - $119,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
