We are looking Principal Hardware Program Manager with customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow, the ability to deploy new offerings and hardware infrastructure on time, at high volume with high quality and lowest cost is of paramount importance
To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware development and manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware
This Principal HW PM role in the Compute TPM Team will play a pivotal role in delivering new server hardware and software technologies at scale that have a significant impact to the business and Azure
This candidate will collaborate with both internal Microsoft teams and external suppliers (Semiconductor providers, OEMs/ODMs, CPU, system, memory, and others) to drive delivery of core technologies that enable our Cloud infrastructure

Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of technical program management or project management experience or a technical role with systems engineering experience or equivalent experience.3+ years’ experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.6+ years of experience in design and delivery of HW engineering products. Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications:12+ years of technical program management or project management experience or a technical role with systems engineering experience, preferably in Cloud silicon, server design, accelerators, Networking solutions, FW & SW development and deployment, and systems solutions from cradle to grave
6+ years of experience in managing a team of engineering and/or technical operations professionals responsible for critical systems and operations in a matrix organization. Experience with hardware, firmware & software (system & application stack) interfaces across all modules in a system.Knowledge of high-volume server design and manufacturing is desired.Knowledge about datacenters & operation at scale.Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S
is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation
