Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil - gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects.
POSITION SUMMARY
TRC is seeking a Principal Investigator for Cultural Resources in our Planning, Permitting, and Licensing Practice (PPL). This individual will be based in our New Orleans, LAOffice.Candidate must already be a Secretary of the Interior (SOI)-qualified archaeologist or meet the requirements to become SOI qualified.
**Potential to work from other locations in Louisiana OR Atlanta, GA
The position will work closely with other environmental and cultural resources staff in TRC-s PPL Practice to further develop TRC's cultural resource services in the Gulf of Mexico.
We are seeking an individual enthusiastic about cultural resource management and historic preservation with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. This position will require some travel based on client or project needs.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - TASKS
The successful candidate will coordinate with the Cultural Resources Team Lead and Senior Cultural Resources Projects Coordinator to assist in managing agency, client and tribal relationships, marketing, and proposal development; assist and advise other cultural resources staff; and direct and manage large and complex cultural resources projects including fieldwork and report preparation.
- Development and implementation of budgets, research designs, work plans, schedules, analyses and reporting.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations, environmental review processes, and compliance requirements (e.g., Section 106).
- Meet the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualifications for Archaeology, History, Architectural History, or Historic Architecture.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree (M.A. or Ph.D.) from a United States accredited university in anthropology, archaeology, architectural history, or historic preservation.
- Meet the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualifications for Archaeology, History, Architectural History, or Historic Architecture.
- Previous project experience working on federal (e.g., BLM, USFS, NPS, ACOE, BIA) and state lands (e.g. State Parks).
- Regional experience that would allow for immediate permitting with the local offices of federal agencies (e.g. BLM, USFS, BOR, etc.) and obtaining other permits as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, peer-reviewing, public speaking.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
- Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner, with a track record of meeting deadlines and budgets and producing high quality reports.
- A commitment to safety.
- Familiarity with digital data recordation and management.
- Seven or more years' experience of progressive experience in the archaeology and/or architectural history of surrounding area.
- Demonstrated marketing success and client retention.
- Previous experience working with utility clients.
- Technical expertise in lithic analysis, ceramic analysis, or underwater archaeology.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
- Abide by Company policies and procedures.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range:USD $75,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.
