Principal Mechanical Engineer

$125k- $175k year plus bonus

Immediate hire. Successful candidature will work as part of multiple integrated product teams. Will be lead mechanical engineer on a team or will be in a support and/or advisory role. Perform hands-on design and analysis, and mentor junior engineers. Prepare and present design and analysis material during internal and customer design reviews. Prepare detailed product manufacturing documentation such as test procedures and assembly instructions. Support component and antenna system level environmental testing. Interface with company production personnel and outside suppliers during manufacturing phase of programs. Support business development activities by providing input for proposals.

Requirements:

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. MS preferred
• 10+ years of experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering and product design and development
• Advanced capability in the design and analysis of positioner drive systems.
• Experience with precision positioners and the design or selection of bearings is preferred
• Advanced capability in designing for producibility, reliability, and ease of assembly and maintenance
• Knowledge in the areas of materials, structural and thermal analysis, dynamics, vibration and mechanical shock, heat transfer, finite element analysis, and composite structures
• Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques such as machining, forming, casting, injection molding, and additive manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of fasteners, adhesives, coatings, and related industry specifications
• Solid modeling, engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Experience with Creo is preferred
• Well versed in configuration management
• Proficient in MS Office products
