Job Title: Lead Network Engineer / Network Engineer Manager

Location: Preferably Charlotte or Carolinas (Open to Remote)

Type: Full-Time

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Network Engineer or Network Engineer Manager with over 10 years of experience in network engineering
This is a hands-on role that requires deep expertise in Fortigate, Fortinet, and Cisco technologies
The ideal candidate will take charge of managing and optimizing our network infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Design and Management: Lead the design, implementation, and management of complex network environments, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
  
• Technology Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of Fortigate, Fortinet, and Cisco products to configure, manage, and troubleshoot network components
  
• Security Management: Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems, ensuring the highest levels of data protection
  
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of network engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring project goals are met
  
• Network Monitoring: Oversee network monitoring and performance tuning, ensuring optimal uptime and efficiency
  
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams to support and integrate network solutions with overall IT infrastructure
  
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures
  

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering with a focus on Fortigate, Fortinet, and Cisco technologies
  
• Proven track record of leading network projects and managing network operations
  
• Strong understanding of network security principles and practices
  
• CCNP certification is a plus
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Local to Charlotte or the Carolinas for occasional onsite work
  
• Experience in managing and mentoring a team of network engineers
  
• Familiarity with other network technologies and tools
