Overview
D424 Audit and Assessment needs a Principal Engineer to support the Audit and Assessment leadership team in the training, qualification, and mentoring of quality personnel. This individual will report directly to the Manager of Audit and Assessment. This individual will demonstrate strong project management skills and will have the ability to monitor key department initiatives to completion. This candidate will utilize quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate effectiveness of actions in order to make recommendations for improvement. This role will bring extensive expertise on quality and shipbuilding practices.
The candidate will also work with internal and external stakeholders to support problem identification in order to ensure first time quality and continuous improvement throughout Electric Boat. They must be capable of an assertive initiative with professional discipline to regulate stakeholder performance and quality.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Execution and oversight of B-Item POAM from NAVSEA 08 Evaluation
- Day-to-day mentoring and coaching on what an internal regulator looks like
- Oversee various projects related to the start-up and improvement of assessment, audit, and surveillance programs
- Training, qualification and development of quality oversight personnel
- Management of key projects and department initiatives
- Oversight of department processes and effectiveness
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Related Technology
- 15+ years of professional related experience
- 10+ years of experience in an auditor role
- 10+ years in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program
- Prior leadership experience in a regulatory position
- Naval operations or shipbuilding experience
- Masters of Business Administration
- Experience with training, qualification, and mentoring
- Experience with root cause analysis
Skills
