As a Principal Platform Product Owner / Scrum Master, you will herald a transformative era in software engineering, one that underscores the integration of development and operations through a single, comprehensive platform. Platform engineers, with their comprehensive technical and problem-solving skills, are shaping the future of software development to efficiently deliver high-quality, secure software, by providing automated services that enable SW engineers to focus on developing mission capabilities.
The role's core responsibility will be as a Product Owner / Scrum Master for an agile platform product team. Additionally, you will help with the design and implementation of the platform. You will be on a team that is responsible for development and operational environments consisting of a mix of servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) hardware. These environments provide the enterprise hybrid-cloud backbone for product development and testing for a large program producing a critical, strategic national asset.
NOTE: This position will be performed onsite in the RTX Facility in Richardson TX.
What You Will Do
- Support transitioning a system that is tightly coupled to the underlying infrastructure to a modern platform infrastructure
- Convert strategy and strategic initiatives into well-developed plans and objectives over different time frames captured a backlog of features and stories
- Assist with architecture, design, development, integration, and support of build, integration & test, and deployment pipelines, optimizing for performance and scalability across on-premises VMware computing environments
- Administer / support current RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems
- Leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to improve scalability, consistency, infrastructure efficiency, for Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products
- Ability to oversee all stages of product creation, including design and development
- Ability to Facilitate SAFe Agile ceremonies including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Iteration Reviews, PI (Program Increment) Planning, and Retrospectives
- Understanding of Change Management processes - Version Control of software and applications
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 5+ years of related work experience.
- Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket etc.)
- Experience with Agile Development Methodologies
- Experience collaborating with clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
- A U.S. government TS/SCI / CI Poly issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with AWS
- Experience with VMware provisioning / systems administration
- Experience in DevOps/DevSecOps system development
- Experience in designing private cloud environments, especially in the area of compute servers
- Experience with automation tools such as Chef (preferred), Puppet, Ansible (preferred), SaltStack
- Experience with Artifactory/Xray or equivalent artifact repository product
- Experience with Jenkins or an equivalent Build, test and deploy automation product
- Experience with Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher)
- Coach and guide Agile teams on SAFe practices and principles, promoting continuous
- Experience with the architecture and design of on premises COTS Infrastructure (IT)
- Able to obtain a Security Plus certification

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
