About the Team:
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Database Administrator/Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on cutting-edge SaaS technologies and impactful projects that are used by enterprises and users worldwide. You will drive technical strategy, lead large-scale projects, and mentor engineers across the organization.
About the Role:
Key Responsibilities:
+ Architect, design and building of PostgresSQL ,MySQL Server Infrastructure Onprem and public Cloud (AWS or GCP or Azure) ensuring high standards of performance, scalability, and reliability.
+ Develop alerting and monitoring solutions using Internal Views, Extensions, and other tools.
+ Implement monitors and alerts using modern observability approaches, including SLI/SLOs and Error Budget.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues for EDB & Community PostgreSQL servers, reporting, ETL, and data warehouse-related issues.
+ Create, develop, and maintain database maintenance solutions, DB setup, and configuration PL/SQL scripts.
+ Implement and maintain EFM, replication solutions, and standby servers.
+ Review problematic code and suggest improvements.
+ Develop team policies, procedures, and techniques.
+ Ensure the health and quality of services and incidents, proactively identifying and addressing issues.
+ Provide technical mentorship and guidance, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for database systems. Continuously review and update existing best practices/SOPs.
+ Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
+ Participate in the on-call rotations and provide critical support for production systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Support production and other environments consisting of EDB & Community PostgreSQL, EFM, PGBouncer and Linux.
+ Installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of PostgreSQL.
+ Disaster Recovery Planning and Implementation (Replication of different types).
+ Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Monitoring tools, and Performance monitoring.
+ Experience in planning and implementing backup policies.
+ Practical experience in managing internal and external database security.
+ Knowledge of hosting/SaaS environments and focusing on systems performance and high availability.
+ Knowledge of server hardware systems and operating systems.
+ Hands-on experience with scripting and automation using Python, Go, and Google Cloud Scripting.
+ Familiarity with various database technologies, including SQL (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle), NoSQL (Cassandra, Astra), and SaaS DB instances (Cloud SQL, ASTRA).
About You:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
+ 9+ years of professional experience as a PostgreSQL Server DBA or Similar roles
+ Advanced skills with scripting and automation using Python, Go, PowerShell, Google Cloud Scripting and Infrastructure Code (IaC)
+ Proficiency with cloud technologies like Azure, AWS, GCP (Preferable)
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
+ Proficiency in building telemetry or observability implementation of SLI’/SLO for database operations meeting high Standards.
+ Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ PostgreSQL (or)MySQL Certification is Must and preferable to have other Cloud certifications in AWS, GCP.

The pay range for this position is $109,000 to $156,700, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
