Under the supervision of the Small Molecule Site Maintenance Lead, the Principal Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing the Reliability Program Strategy while owning the deployment of continuous improvement initiatives and a detailed Asset Management approach through a reliability team. The Principal Reliability Engineer will drive a qualitative and quantitative approach to sustain asset performance by improving the technical availability of our critical assets. The incumbent uses professional and technical experience to resolve simple and complex problems, requiring the exercise of judgment and decision-making. They have the ability to collaborate and influence business partners, is a servant leader, and promotes diversity and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, Align, Communicate, and own the deployment of the site's Strategic Asset Management Plan in alignment with ISO 55000.
- To ensure the asset's high-performance level, guide the maintenance, execution systems, project portfolio, and project management teams on their mid- and long-term goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with large molecule asset management (Maintenance Team), engineering, and property services and create a side-wide asset management strategic plan alignment.
- Establish KPIs, maintenance procedures, and policies to ensure the Centered Maintenance program is measurable, effective, and sustainable.
- Develop, own, and deliver comprehensive maintenance and reliability training to maintenance resources in the MAM organization.
- The individual will provide leadership and mentorship to the Asset Management and Reliability Teams on methods, maintenance, and control of processes/systems.
- Build and follow up on maintenance-related Change Controls (CCs), and develop maintenance assessments for all CCs as the need arises.
- Develop, provide operational support, monitor, and troubleshoot the data gathering and visualization of the reliability data.
- Collect operating system data and report performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Review asset job plans for predictive and preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, structural, and instrumentation equipment.
- Build a culture around "Centered Maintenance and Analysis," one that is "Predictive" in its nature and approach.
- Collaborates (participates in/leads) with Maintenance and Operations personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems during Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) exercises or daily complex/recurrent problems.
- Participate in all EH&S initiatives, including investigations and CAPAs, as required.
- Implements proven maintenance approaches to improve equipment efficiency and ensures that capital/expense projects are delivered on time and below budget.
- Generate and/or implement data-driven plans to reduce unplanned stoppages.
- Independently implementing small maintenance-related projects.
- Periodic review of recurring issues and develop action plans to mitigate and eliminate them.
- Periodic Review tasks related to production equipment.
- Creating Preventive Inspections, Preventive maintenance checklists, and maintenance instructions.
- Active support while introducing new maintenance methods.
- Creating, understanding, and guarding the maintenance strategy.
- Participate in and propose solutions to improve cGMP compliance.
- Spokesperson during internal and external inspections, if applicable
- Impeccable creative and communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- May hire, train, evaluate, and review personnel.
• Minimum Bachelor Degree of Science in an Engineering discipline is required.
• 6 years of experience in related field or related engineering areas (Automation, Production Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, etc.) is required.
• Experience in duties similar or intimately related to the ones required in this document is required.
• Good communication, organizational, interpersonal and influencing skills is required.
• Solid understanding of global GMP regulations is required.
• Strong analytical skills. Ability to clearly articulate issues required.
• Must have excellent communication skills, able to build credibility within the Quality and Compliance community quickly is required.
• Delivers commitment timelines and has a high sense of urgency is required.
• Project management certification is desirable.
• Reliability Centered Maintenance knowledge is desirable.
• Business Excellence Black Belt or Green Belt Certification is desirable.
• Asset management certification is desirable.
• Registration as engineer is desirable.
• Understanding on Performance Management Processes is desirable.
