About the Job
- Manage silicon photonics products through R&D NPI process, complete Phase Exit gates, and deliver qualified products meeting NPI deliverables to the Operations team
- Define the specifications of silicon photonic integrated circuits to meet various customer requirements
- Define and manage test procedures of silicon photonic integrated circuits
- Define qualification test plan of silicon photonic integrated circuits
- Design and implement test procedures for optical subassemblies including lasers, micro-optics, free-space optics, as well as associated electronic devices such as TIAs, laser/modulator drivers, and SerDes chips
- Participate the design, implement, and maintain optical and electrical test setups for silicon photonics chips and optical subsystems
- Participate the design and debug of silicon photonic circuits
- Maintain and update documents related to silicon photonics design, test, and fabrication
- Primary team interface working with design team, external foundries, qualification team, operations team, and marketing
Education
- Master or PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Optics and Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field
Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of industry experience preferred, or less experienced candidate with exceptional track record of related work
- >2 years of experience with silicon photonics product developments
- >2 years of experience with optical transceivers or components desirable
- Hands on experience with optical chip, component and system-level prototyping and testing for Telecommunications or Data Center Interconnect (DCI) product development.
- Industrial experience in design and optimization of silicon/III-V photonic devices and photonic integrated circuits
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or Product Lifecycle Management processes
- Experience with Oracle, Agile, and MS Project desirable
- Working knowledge and experience with manufacturing support, such as optical component testing and performance evaluation
- Highly self-motivated with a strong multi-disciplinary background is essential
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and risk management skills
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Authorized to work in US
