The Identity and Network Access (IDNA) team is searching for a Principal Software Engineer who can define, build, and evolve heavily integrated platforms at scale. Our team is part of the Security organization in Microsoft and is responsible for?bringing networking, identity, and security together. **Responsibilities**
+ Lead end to end design, implementation and delivery of the future architecture for highly scalable, durable, low latency systems.
+ Build an effective and agile development organization using industry leading best practices. Lead the definition of requirements, KPIs, priorities and planning of engineering deliverables.
+ Proven team building experience as well as mentoring and growing team members.

**Qualifications**
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience
+ 6+ years of professional experience building, running, and maintaining highly resilient, distributed cloud services at scale
+ 4+ years of professional experience in OOP server-side development building large-scale distributed systems
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 8+ years of professional experience in designing, building and operating large scale distributed systems that can sustain rapid growth
+ Effective communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
+ Independent, capable of making decisions in an ambiguous environment
+ Familiarity with any modern continuous delivery/deployment systems
+ Familiarity with Application?(HTTP,?HTTPS),?transport?&?security?(TCP/UDP,?TLS) protocols??
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
