Principal Software Engineer at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

The Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC) is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join its Application Development team. The RGC focuses on leveraging large-scale genetic data to uncover the roots of human diseases and accelerate development of targeted treatments. At the RGC, we're not just coding; we're decoding the secrets of human genetics to fight diseases.

Your role will involve building foundational services that facilitate the processing, analysis, and sharing of big data to support the mission of the RGC.

As a Principal Software Engineer, a typical day might include:

• Implementing innovative approaches to managing and querying big data

• Fine-tuning database queries for speed and efficiency

• Developing highly scalable and fast APIs written in Python, TypeScript and R

• Utilizing AWS services such as Athena, Redshift, Aurora, Glue, Lambda, and ECS to build cloud native solutions

• Prioritizing and completing multiple initiatives in an agile environment

• Leveraging new and emerging technologies to incorporate into portfolio of solutions

• Ensuring alignment to architecture guidelines and frameworks related to logging, authentication, security, error recovery, etc.

To be considered for this role, you must have a bachelors degree or higher with at least 6 years of relevant IT experience. Expert knowledge of data modeling, web application and cloud-based architecture patterns including hands on experience with the following: TypeScript, Python, MySQL/Postgres. Experience utilizing AWS or equivalent cloud provider services preferred. Level commensurate based upon experience and qualifications.
