The ideal candidate will have a strong background in code, automation, and software development, with a particular emphasis on automating security assessments and response.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership:Manage and mentor a team of security engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.Security Automation and Development:Develop and implement automated security assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in AWS environments.Design and deploy automated security response mechanisms to ensure rapid and effective incident resolution.Work closely with development teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle.Responds to and resolves escalated incidents for customer issues or monitoring alerts. In-depth analysis of incident root cause;Working with R&D and architecture teams on defects and runtime inefficiencies identified in the production environment;Building diagnostic and analytical tools that improve the MTTA, MTTD, and MTTR.Building systems/site monitoring tools for system health and APIs to ensure smooth operations of production systemsConfiguring and integrating commercially available monitoring tools into the production systemsValidate and Verify software deliverables for production readiness.Risk assessment and mitigation of changes to the production systemsCloud Security Management:Oversee the security of AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Implement and manage security controls and best practices for AWS services, including IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others.Perform regular security assessments and audits to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, IT, and compliance, to ensure comprehensive security coverage.Communicate security risks, incidents, and solutions to stakeholders, providing clear and actionable insights.Prepare and present security reports and metrics to senior leadership.Required Qualifications:Experience:Minimum 10 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability and Cloud Engineering, with a focus on cloud security.Proven experience managing and leading security teams.Strong background in AWS security services and best practices.Skills:Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform).In-depth knowledge of AWS services and security features.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating security into DevOps practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong work experience in Unix/LinuxStrong knowledge Java Web-based enterprise applications.Strong work experience and troubleshooting skills in Kubernetes systemsStrong work experience in Microservices using Kubernetes and container applicationsEducation and Certifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CISSP, or similar.Desired Qualifications:Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Personal Attributes:Proactive and innovative thinker with a strong focus on continuous improvement.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and security.Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.This job description outlines the key responsibilities and qualifications for the Principal SRE role, focusing on team management, security automation, development, and cloud security management.Unless explicitly requested or approached by SS&C Technologies, Inc
