We are seeking a Northeast Division Senior Bridge Leader located in Pennsylvania and assigned to our Philadelphia, PA office with the flexibility to open an office in another part of the state focused on team building and business development!

In this role, you will be responsible for the structural aspects of highway and/or railroad bridge engineering projects. You will be responsible for delivering current and future projects through construction, building and supervising a team of bridge engineers, and for mentoring the team in structural design and career development. This position will also be responsible for leading technical pursuits and proposal writing.
As part of the infrastructure team, you'll serve an integral role in the firm by serving as a discipline leader, subject matter expert, and technical resource for discipline and related program activities, including active participation in discipline quality improvement and assurance activities. This position will define project elements and processes required to meet client needs, along with participating in and coordinating preparation of bids and promoting and maintaining client relationships; oversee performance to contracts through shared planning and monitoring of work orders and deliverables with engineering, construction, and various other disciplines; lead projects, including major projects with complex elements and a broad scope of responsibilities; coordinate with project management to execute project plans and directly supervise the teams' design and technical delivery; promote and maintain client relationships through all project phases, including presenting directly to the client on technical and design solutions and serving as a firm ambassador to win new work; recommend new practices or changes in emphasis for professional services; and lead the development and application of company-wide standard operating procedures and technical requirements for projects and discipline deliverables. This position may also manage a small team of direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree minimum and (Master’s degree with structural emphasis preferred) in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- 15 years of experience.
- Must have a PA professional engineering (PE) registration with the ability to obtain comity in other jurisdictions as required.
- Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, miscellaneous structures, and construction engineering.
- of progressive structural engineering design experience.
- Complex bridge design experience preferred.
- Good working knowledge of MicroStation, Excel, Mathcad, variety of Structural Design Software, (examples include STAAD, MDX, LPILE, CONSPAN, RISA, LARSA).
- Experience working on traditional Design-Bid-Build projects, Owner’s Representative on projects
- Experience working on PennDOT and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission projects
- Experience managing and mentoring engineering staff, business development including client relationship management, proposal writing and presentations
- Must have a proven track record of leadership, with a strong understanding of effective management practices.
- Must possess demonstrated project and budget management skills, and strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental engineering business principles. Must possess exceptional organizational, critical thinking, prioritization, process improvement, and oral and written communications skills.
- Must have the ability to effectively engage and empower teams, and interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Possesses a professional demeanor and adheres to ethical standards.
- Leads by example and provides clear guidance and expectations for team.
- Must be capable of marketing services to existing and new clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on CMGC, PDB or Design-Build delivery projects.
