POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor, Supplier Performance Engineering, the Principal Supplier Performance Engineer develops and manages the supply base for CIRCOR Naval Solutions with a focus on casting quality and supplier selection assessments. The position drives sample part development, manages supplier performance – Quality & Delivery, and drives supplier improvement programs. In this role, your primary focus commodities will be Castings and Fabrications, with opportunities to support additional commodities as needs arise.
Principal Activities
- Manage supplier quality activities per CIRCOR standard processes.
- Evaluate suppliers and support supplier onboarding process per commodity strategy. Execute on grow/exit/maintain strategies.
- Drive Technical feasibility reviews, process reviews and create standard work documentation to support sourcing projects.
- Drive sample development process and ensure suppliers are meeting customer, drawing and specification requirements. Own the process of First Article Approvals.
- Perform supplier audits, production process validation and process approvals at supplier end per project plan.
- Manage supplier performance – Quality and Delivery and continuous improvement initiatives both from a strategic and tactical perspective. Handle supplier non-conformances and connect with site Quality and Supplier to drive RCCA.
- Drive supplier performance improvement projects and improve supplier performance levels.
- Support New Product launch, Supplier transitions & Engineering change management processes.
- Train suppliers on best practices as needed. Leverage existing CIRCOR training modules.
- Work with internal customers (Quality, Engineering and Supply chain teams) to identify opportunities and to drive improvements.
- Work closely with global sourcing commodity team to achieve sourcing goals.
- Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with suppliers, key stakeholders, customers, sites and category team members.
- Key metrics include: First Article Approvals, Supplier Quality – DPPM, Supplier OTD (project and production), Supplier performance metrics improvements, and support sourcing team metrics and projects.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Supplier Quality Management/Strategic Sourcing, ideally with a focus on Casting Quality/Delivery in the aerospace, defense, or high-tech industries.
- Experience performing complete root cause/corrective and / or preventive action as related to supplier performance.
