What You Will Do:
Raytheon, an RTX business, is looking for a PrincipalSystems Engineer.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our world class engineering team. In this role you will be responsible for the continued development of an advanced, leading-edge, software system providing excellent technical guidance and team communication. You will function in a technical role in a SAFe Agile development environment and effectively work and communicate with all levels of Program Leadership, Customers, and Engineers on the Program team. This position is on-site in Richardson, Texas.
- Collaborate with the Raytheon systems engineering and subcontractor teams to design and develop software
- Assists in providing technical direction and clarification to subcontractors during the entire software development lifecycle; from conceptualization and design to development, testing, deployment, and operations
- Performs solution decomposition from customer epics, to capabilities, to features, to stories according to SAFe practices
- Apply systems engineering expertise in particular to feature designs to reduce overall risk to the software development lifecycle
- Engage with customer user representatives to gather user needs and incorporate into the feature designs
- Engage with SMEs from other disciplines to fully understand the solution and document the designs
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
- "Experience working in an Agile development team environment with multi-discipline engineers and stake holders, developing system solutions to meet customer requirements
- Experienced with requirements decomposition and experience with CONOPS development
- Solution oriented, strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving and time management skills
- Extensive systems engineering experience, including support to development of large software systems, as Technical Lead or with subject matter expert experience; and extensive engineering experience working in the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodology that ensures high quality software is built and released to end-users quickly and within cost and schedule parameters
- Experience using Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), and evaluation of COTS
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience working with or developing MBSE and DoDAF operational views for design detail
- AWS cloud experience - AWS cloud technology knowledge and implementation
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) knowledge and experience, as a System Engineer or working directly in such roles
- Experience using modeling resources and methodologies like Cameo, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, is a plus
- CompTIA Security + Certification – Linux
- Experience with the Cloud technologies and Cloud migration, Containerization and databases, Automation (Build, Deploy, Test)

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
