Principal Talent Management Consultant _Hybrid_
The Principal Consultant provides expert level consultation to senior leaders and operational delivery staff. The Principal Consultant acts as both a solutions Architect taking caregiver/client inputs to drive solutions that support Human Resources overall vision and goals as well as support Providence St Joseph Health's strategic goals. Working to support directly the focus of the COE leader or field leader to build solutions that will solve organizational issues that align with the COE capability and strategy or the regional expectations or needs. This individual will drive strategic solutions working across the care continuum with the ITM delivery and Ops to ensure successful development and implementation, operating as a subject matter expert. This person works Hybrid and will need to be available to work on site at our locations in the Portland or Central Division area a couple of times a month as needed.
Additional Details for Field Principal Consultant:
The Field Principal Consultant position reports to the Director, Field Solutions Delivery , and works in collaboration with the Divisional business leaders, HR Leaders, Centers of Excellence (e.g. Talent Management, Leadership Development, Caregiver Experience, etc.) to ensure alignment of needs to the strategies of HR, PSJH and the Division . Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels in PSJH Shared Services, as well as with other PSJH staff, vendors and agents.
* Partners with the Director to help define organization and talent strategies for assigned regions. Uses system, Divisional, and HR strategies as the driving force to advise on, design, and implement appropriate solutions. Evaluates the effectiveness of solutions to ensure the organization is achieving the desired outcomes.
* Under guidance from the Director, provides expert-level consultation and implementation to support to assigned divisions and divisional business leaders in the areas of organizational strategy and design, strategic workforce planning, talent management, leadership development, caregiver engagement and experience, and professional development.
* Support, and in some cases lead, project delivery, talent management and leadership development work and processes under the direction of the Director.
Essential Functions:
+ Provides expert level strategic consulting capability across initiative life cycle (e.g., assessing business strategy/challenge, scoping and aligning solution, Solution build out and framework).
+ Conducts assessment of organizational talent needs. Responsible for creating, or contributing to talent strategy for a region, function, or within a center of excellence. Use the strategy as the driving force to advise on, design, and implement solutions; working as the SME to Operations and Delivery shared services resources. Understand and analyze data and success measure to determine effectiveness of solution with the region and or system.
+ Proactively addresses and responds to talent needs by bringing key stakeholders together to identify talent gaps and gain consensus on appropriate talent management interventions. And look to build strategic solutions that will support needs, build out success metrics for evaluation and ROI.
+ Facilitate and/or participate in functional/regional talent review processes to identify high potential talent and successors. Solution and strategize on the accelerated development opportunities for these populations as appropriate; based on Talent Review data.
+ Facilitate organizational design workshops to drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout the organization
+ Facilitate a variety of learning experiences (e.g., formal classroom and virtual learning, skills labs, action-learning teams, mentor programs, etc.)- when needed as either back up to our operational staff or for senior leadership when needed. Collaborate with Client and Operational staff to build evaluation strategy to measure the effectiveness in achieving the program objectives, and work with COE program management to ensure lessons learned are incorporated into iterative designs and future programs.
+ Responsible for a full suite of services, working at the system, region and executive levels. Ability to work with Sr Leaders Management to drive subject matter expertise and consultation; as well as acting as a trusted advisor to our c-suite executives. Ability to drive and influence solutions that align with our organizational goals and strategies. Perseverance when working through and driving new ideas and solutions working as a change agent/champion to help bring workforce along to new state of optimization.
+ Ability to design and lead a programs at the executive level (Talent, Coaching Accelerated Leadership, Learning and Performance Development), knowledge and expertise to continue to evaluate, refine and evolve program based on best practices and maturity and organizational readiness. Ability to cross collaborate with ops and delivery staff for support functions. Responsible for understanding organizational maturity and current workforce to design assessment tools that create an experience that is high value to the worker but provide analytical data that will support business impact.
+ As a senior-level individual contributor, partner with Regional ITM Director and team, regional business leaders and HR teams to align system-wide strategic organization and talent initiatives with regional business strategies and desired outcomes, and support regional implementation of system-wide initiatives. Assist Regional ITM Director and team with assessing regional organization and talent needs and creating, or contributing to, regional organization and talent strategies. Analyze and assess organizational and talent data and climate to understand business problems. Recommend and implement appropriate organization and talent strategies and solutions to address problems.
+ In partnership with the Regional ITM director, apply common methodologies and tools to plan and implement organizational strategy and design solutions across assigned regions to help organizations appropriately structure work and outputs. In partnership with the Regional ITM director and team, assess talent capabilities needed within region and build appropriate talent plans encompassing the acquisition, development and movement of talent. Assess and identify strategic learning and development needs within a region and ensure the implementation of programs and processes that build key capabilities to meet critical organizational objectives.
+ Facilitate and/or participate in regional talent review processes to identify key talent and successors for targeted roles. Support the implementation of accelerated development opportunities for designated talent pools. Work with the ITM Centers of Excellence (e.g. Organization Strategy & Design, Talent Management, Leadership Development, Caregiver Experience) and other HR functions to develop solutions to key organization and talent challenges; help create a culture that drives engagement, performance and results.

Required Qualifications:
+ 8 years Practitioner with demonstrated ability to add value to strategic objectives of an organization using a variety of talent management and learning & development methodologies.
+ 5 years Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of talent development methods, and in the design, implementation, and execution of development solutions across a variety of functions.
+ 5 years Experience with all aspects of talent including Performance Management, Organizational Design, Strategic Workforce development, Talent scorecard/succession, Accelerated Development and Learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Organization Development, Industrial Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration.
+ Certification in Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP), Human Capital Strategist (HCS), or other relevant certification program upon hire.
