Job Title: Principal Database Engineer (DB2)

Location: Tampa, Dallas, or Jersey City, NJ

Salary: Up to $180,000

Job Overview:

We're seeking an experienced Principal Database Engineer (DB2) to join our Database Engineering team. You'll be responsible for managing public and private cloud databases, focusing on design, build, and operational aspects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Engineer mainframe database solutions

- Evaluate, install, configure, and maintain DB2 for z/OS and related software

- Perform DB2 system-level performance tuning

- Automate database support procedures and DBA tasks

- Ensure data integrity and security

- Participate in on-call rotation and disaster recovery tests

- Support distributed database connections using JDBC

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

- 15+ years of related experience

- Expertise in DB2 for z/OS

- Experience with SMPE, DB2 maintenance, data sharing, performance monitoring/tuning

- Knowledge of DB2 disaster recovery and failure scenarios

- Familiarity with diverse workload applications (batch, RRS, CICS, WebSphere)

- Understanding of DB2 database statistics and SMF records

- Experience with TSO/ISPF, JCL, RACF

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with BMC and CA Sysview tools

- Knowledge of IBM Infosphere Data Replication

- REXX and ISPF/CLIST programming
