POSITION TITLE: Print Design Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY: A+O is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Print Design Assistant. The ideal candidate will be able to identify trends and have a strong understanding of the Contemporary market. The Print Assistant will be responsible for ideation, creation, and development of Print/Pattern Designs. This role will support the Senior Print Designers by creating repeats, recoloring artwork, and prepping files for overseas production. This role will also include email communication with factories, organization of print receiving, and trend research.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Preparing artwork for send outs. Organizing CAD print outs and send outs to mills.
· Market research and mood boarding for future seasons.
· Catalog seasonal organizational charts. Helping to keep these charts up to date with calendar deadlines.
· Communication between design team and overseas factories.
· Maintain email communication, ensuring mills will be sending SO submits in a timely manner.
DIRECT REPORTS:
· Print & Concept Designer
· Senior Print Engineer/Developer
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum internship to 1 year of work experience.
· Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or Textile Design.
· Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft, and Excel.
· Hand Illustration skills mandatory.
· Proficient organizational skills.
· General understanding of design and development process related to a variety of materials and fabrications.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask while paying close attention to detail.
· Ability to work a hybrid schedule. In office and remote.
