Prepress Associate - Variable Data Production

We are a northwest of Boston print and communications company focused on digital print and data driven targeted marketing.

Our work is complex and challenging and our environment is fast-paced.

Prepress Duties & Responsibilities:

• Read job tickets; pull existing files for reprint
  
• Review client files; qualify for production
• Build new documents per specifications (light design within template)
• Create conditional content versioning with variable text and images
• Generate proofs (PDF or hardcopy)
• Prepare/impose files for print
• Provide general assistance to production team and overall operations as needed, and perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Must have thorough understanding of print manufacturing process.
• Ability to develop data driven variable projects with multiple versions and bulk mailings utilizing advanced-expert XMPie skills.
• Strong (if not expert) skills with current versions of Adobe CC applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat and Photoshop.
• Imposition for print (QuiteImposing).
• Able to work with various graphic design and layout software applications commonly used on Macintosh and Windows workstations.
• Experience with PDF prepress tools and workflow.
• Advanced file troubleshooting, font management and ability to overcome unexpected issues

• HTML or Java Script coding
