Respiratory Therapist (RT)
Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.
Respiratory Therapist (RT) Job Description
- Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
- Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
- Complete a variety of bedside treatments
- Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
- Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
- Attend applicable IDT meetings
- Experience with tracheotomy
- Experience is a long term care setting
- Follow procedure and protocol of facility
- Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
- Performs related duties as required
Respiratory Therapist (RT) QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
- Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Knowledge of the respiratory community.
· Skills applicable to clinical discipline.
o Knowledge of medical terminology.
o Knowledge of respiratory disease and diseases that affect the respiratory system.
o Ability to use respiratory therapy equipment.
o Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in devising, installing and interpreting rules, regulations, policies, or procedures.
o Ability to express ideas and information, clearly, concisely, verbally and writing.
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, and officials of other departments.
· Program development and implementation
· Management and administration of therapies as prescribed by a physician and according to the standard procedure.

10. Education and Experience:
· Graduation from an accredited program for Respiratory Therapy preferred
· Must possess and maintain a current license in the state of practice as required
· Other education and experience may be considered.
