The Procedural Services Scheduler completes procedural scheduling and billing functions for Procedural Services operations as outlined by organization policies and standards. Accountable for accurate demographic and insurance information entry and securing appointment times for scheduled appointments. Responsible for performing general secretarial, receptionist, and clerical duties for procedural services, documenting needed information and handling all patient and company information in a professional manner.

Responsibilities:- Works with Procedural Services leadership team to determine equipment and instrument needs.
- Collaborates with provider offices and ancillary departments to ensure an accurate daily procedural schedule.
- Obtains all required information for additions and modifications to procedural case flow in electronic scheduling system.
- Coordinates and schedules procedures based on department guidelines to ensure patient safety.
- Confirms procedural date and time with patients and routes questions or concerns to appropriate clinical team members.
- Communicates with other members of healthcare team to ensure coordination of services.
- Reviews procedural services charges for accuracy. Investigates and Enters specific department charges. Posts charges for procedural departments through electronic billing system.
- Makes corrections to departmental charges in electronic medical record as necessary.
- Processes requisitions for purchase orders to include supply ordering and payment.
- Works on special projects, including, but not limited to, revenue, charge capture, and documentation. This involves knowledge of and expertise in complex billing requirements.
- Consistently answer phone calls to ensure that caller needs are met in an efficient and timely manner.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with all members of the Procedural Services team, provider offices, and hospital departments within a timely manner related to Surgical Services operations.
- Performs payroll approval functions in electronic payroll system.
- Provides administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Makes guest relation rounds to access needs of family or patient on the units and patient waiting rooms and works with manager to improve patient services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires high school diploma or GED and successful completion of a medical terminology course/certification.
- Internal applicants within Allen, with two years of demonstrated and documented experience of exceeding the performance expectations in patient care and living our values, may be considered in place of medical terminology course.
- Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.
- Ability to respond and act on urgent/emergent cases and inform leadership immediately.
- Ability to work for a large multitude of the management team and physicians.
- Demonstrates ability to work on several projects simultaneously, function effectively with disruptions and work independently.

- Flexibility in accepting assignments and works well as a team member and individual.
Preferred:
- Associate degree in Business/Clerical/Health related field, medical related diploma, certificate, or program.
- One to two years of Health Care experience.
- One to two years of Customer Service experience.
- Proficient with scheduling functions in electronic scheduling system.
