Process Control Technician II
Position summary: Provides leadership in training, implementing, and auditing of Quality Assurance policies and procedures to help ensure that the facility is meeting food safety requirements, product & packaging specifications; coordinates Process Control Technician trainees work tasks and job assignments; assists evaluating competencies of trainee technicians; assist in gathering data and information that may be needed for new or updated products and packaging along with continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties:
- Perform food safety and quality line checks on a timely basis as outlined in the Quality Technician SOP.
- Inspect and sample material and packaging as needed.
- Responsible for grading of commodities.
- Complete and review documentation as needed.
- Close-out line documentation in correct order for management review.
- Support communication of specification requirements to the operation as needed.
- Perform BPCS transactions– includes but not limited to Tag Histories, BOM look-ups, determine product grades/item #’s, BIB reports, Run queried, Re-Designations and Holds, differentiate amongst different hold attributes i.e.: CLM, DAP, QAH, COM.
- Assist in training and coaching of QA trainees and others as needed on all poly lines, tunnels – including fresh processing and sauce lines.
- Assist with PCT development in terms of teaching/training new skills and aligned decision making
- Provide feedback regarding trainees performance.
- Provide feedback to Quality Team Lead and Quality Technician II to ensure timely disposition of required records, disposition and completion of any nonconforming materials.
- Complete documentation for material requiring hold disposition and provide clear communication in support of food safety and food quality.
- Responsible for knowledge including use of analytical equipment, verification and troubleshooting.
- Responsible to consistently communicate issues found to management effectively and professionally including but not limited to daily recaps.
- Provide input for improvement of existing quality and food safety programs and procedures as needed.
- Maintain the QA master sheets and forms and revise as needed
- Complete efficient Post Sanitation Inspections (PSI) effectively and timely.
- Complete daily hygienic inspections of the lines assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Must have Associate degree in Food Science or 5 years of experience in the field
* Must be able to effectively communicate in English (read, write, speak)
* Must have solid abilities in Word, Excel, BPCS.
* Must be able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
* Must be able to work effectively with PCTs and Management personnel
