About the Job
The Process Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, improving, and maintaining tooling, equipment, and processes within their designated area. This role also supports the introduction of new products to ensure seamless integration into production.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, implement, and sustain efficient manufacturing processes using data-driven tools.
- Enhance operational efficiency by reducing setup times, increasing run rates, and maximizing machine uptime.
- Coordinate, organize, and lead improvement projects to optimize production.
- Analyze close tolerance tooling and suggest enhancements to improve output and quality.
- Review new products and recommend improvements for better manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Communicate with suppliers and assist in managing external vendor relationships.
- Provide training for equipment and process operations.
- Collaborate with team members to shape plans, share ideas, and make informed decisions; support group efforts and encourage co-worker involvement.
- Continuously develop equipment and processes to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase throughput.
- Offer expertise in production-related issues and provide ongoing production support as required.
- Lead root cause analysis for customer complaints using the 8D methodology.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery (OTD), scrap reduction, and efficiency gains.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Apply risk-based thinking to assess operational safety and process effectiveness.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for machinery when needed.
- Evaluate new equipment and technologies relevant to the assigned area.
- Document machine settings and create work instructions and operation sheets for all processes.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of relevant processes and equipment, with a preference for experience in metal stamping, plastic injection molding, or micromachining.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Ability to implement policies and instructions in a clear, actionable manner.
- Experience working in highly precise manufacturing environments.
- Basic understanding of material properties and their impact on production processes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and optimize production processes.
- Basic understanding of Six Sigma, statistical process control, 5S, and Lean manufacturing concepts.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments, such as ISO 9001 Quality Management, particularly in medical and automotive sectors.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or other Engineering disciplines required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering preferred.
- Professional certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) and/or Lean Manufacturing preferred.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing processes or equipment, with a strong mechanical aptitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as necessary.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the organization's facilities.
