About the Job
- Having regular contacts with other departments, furnishing or obtaining information, analyzing and reporting scrap, reporting faulty equipment, discrepant materials and/or unusual conditions to appropriate personnel. They may participate in planning, design, fabrication and production of new products and perform other related duties as required or directed.
- Developing, configuring and optimizing industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification.
- Assessing processes, taking measurements and interpreting data. Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Designing, running, testing and upgrading systems and processes. Participate as needed to design and planning equipment layout
- Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
- Update and train Operations employees of any changes to the processes, by providing them with operating instructions and process documents with instructions and details listed
- Conducting tests and monitoring the process performance throughout production. Making adjustments of equipment, tools and/or processes, confers with appropriate personnel, makes recommendation concerning solutions to problems.
- Set-up a maintenance process of tooling, including production roll forming tool, extrusion dies & tips.
- Responds to breakdowns and repairs, working with other departments as needed.
- BS degree in Engineering, preferable in Materials/Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering, other relevant degrees with appropriate experience may be considered.
- Working knowledge of one or more metallurgical processes such as, hot rolling, cold rolling, annealing, laboratory heat treatments, etc. is highly preferred. Experience in Profile Roll Forming preferred.
- Experience in Profile Roll Forming and Knowledge of Plastic Extrusion would be considered assets.
- Proven work experience in process engineering,
- Excellent technical skills.
- Knowledge of process related standards
- Knowledge of process simulations
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite software (Excel, Word, etc.)
- CAD or AutoCAD skills preferred.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Analytical thinker with people skills; team player.

- Must actively support our Health Safety and Environmental policy, immediately report all Safety hazards and correct them when able to safely do so, participate in all required Safety Training, meetings, inspects, and use all required PPE.
