Consolidate Precision Products (CPP-Cudahy) is currently seeking an experienced casting Process Engineer to join our team! This position is the lead for casting development and works cooperatively in a team environment to develop robust manufacturing processes to support the company's growth in the industrial and aerospace casting markets. This position is involved in planning, gating development, establishing foundry parameters, and providing technical support to the Operations team throughout the manufacturing process in our dry sand foundries. The Process Engineer is also an integral part of Continuous improvement teams with objectives of improving and/or repairing existing casting processes, and as part of a cost cutting initiatives. Engineer will be required to identify problems, generate alternatives, and implement solutions to problems that affect yield, rework, and overall quality of the product using a standardized approach.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the development of super alloy castings. Including the planning, gating development, establishing foundry parameters. Develop work instructions, maintain and teach "best practice" investment casting procedures and practices and customer interfacing
- Responsible for customer interfacing. Must be able to interpret customer specifications relative to establishing internal written NDT specifications.
- Knowledgeable in metallurgy, aluminum alloy solidification basics and basic metallographic knowledge to interpret alloy phases and conditions.
- Review, direct, and approve the constituents necessary to achieve metallurgical property requirements which include, but are not limited to; gating methodology, heat treatment parameters, and sand mold attributes
- Lead and implement root cause and corrective action.
- Manage and coordinate technical input from the foundry, tool shop and machining department into the product development process
- Use problem solving tools and techniques to reduce and or eliminate related scrap issues.
- Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of the results.
- Document work procedures and processes, develop and maintain technique cards and internal job instructions.
- Identify, evaluate and implement new process technologies that will extend manufacturing and product capabilities.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure organization objectives are achieved.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Engineering, Material Science or Metallurgy
- 5+ years of Sand casting experience; Metallurgist or Process Engineer in sand casting industry
- Knowledgeable in metallurgy, aluminum alloy solidification basics and basic metallographic knowledge to interpret alloy phases and conditions.
- Process Development/Gating
- Good working knowledge of Aluminum Alloys, SolidWorks CAD, Blue print reading and tool design
- Strong knowledge of the dimensional aspects of the castings environment.
- Strong communication skills, PC skills and program management skills.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and documentation skills.
- Proven success in process improvements
