About the Job
Georgia-Pacific's Naheola operation is seeking qualified professionals to consider for our Process Engineer role located in Pennington, AL. This role will focus on driving improvements in the Tissue Machine area. The position will require a motivated, organized and detail oriented individual knowledgeable of industrial processes, equipment, and procedures. A successful candidate will have a long-term continuous improvement focus and values establishing systemic processes that are sustainable for the long term. In addition, a degree of flexibility and adaptability will be valuable as the successful candidate will be able to drive improvements and close gaps wherever opportunities are found in the paper making area.

What You Will Do
- Understand safe work practices and lead safety by example
- Lead improvements in the paper making process for consistent manufacturing of tissue paper
- Work closely with GP's Collaboration and Support Center (CSC) to build predictive modeling for papermaking operations
- Look for opportunities anywhere in the paper making process to improve throughput, eliminate waste, reduce cost, or improve quality.
- Support execution of routine maintenance shutdowns as well as major rebuilds
- Utilize economic and critical thinking and risk-taking mentality to ensure operating costs or minimized wherever practical.
- Encourage technicians to demonstrate personal ownership and fostering the personal growth of their capabilities
- Collaborate with Area Leaders to prioritize work
- Maintain and track key metrics and provide explanations for metric performance on a weekly and monthly basis - Uptime, raw material consumption, operating supply usage, and machine speed
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering OR two (2) or more years of experience working within a paper mill manufacturing environment
What Will Put You Ahead
- Five (5) or more years of experience working within a paper mill manufacturing environment
- Experience developing and implementing improvement processes and projects
