Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will drive continuous improvement in product quality and manufacturability by offering hands-on primary support for process and filling operations while developing a responsive, innovative Process Engineering team that focuses on quality improvements and cost reductions for materials and overhead. Also, by implementing and documenting Process Change Requests (PCRs), and leading Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCAs).In addition, you will: Maximize production efficienciesby researching and creating manufacturing methods that eliminate scrap and minimize defects and operator errors.Develop a vibrant, responsive, innovative, customer-advocating, high-performing teamby exercising strong leadership and judgment skills to acquire, develop, train, coach, cultivate, and performance manage talented Process Engineering personnel
Characterize and manage manufacturing quality riskby performing Process Validations, conducting Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs), and developing and managing risk mitigation strategies.Build in manufacturing consistency and quality by coaching the team and guiding them with training personnel and operators, creating and modifying work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing and reworking of products.Enable efficient introduction of new products and product change managementby collaborating with R&D and Production in directing scale-up processes and activities including manufacturing work instructions, bill of material development, DOE and trial batch statistical analysis, product quality criteria comparison, and equipment capability assessments
Drive customer advocacyby supporting Quality teams resolving customer complaints utilizing effective root cause analysis tools, and developing and implementing corrective actions
Cultivate a team dynamic for professional developmentby attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, and by conducting technical peer review of group work.RequirementsYou should have: BS/BA in Chemical Engineering 7+ years of hands on experience in specialty batch chemical manufacturing a must4+ years of experience leading engineering teamsDemonstrated experience of Continuous improvement in process, cost, efficiency and quality.
