Process Safety Engineer [JP - 13934] at Shirley Parsons, North America

A large downstream Oil & Gas refinery is looking to appoint a Process Safety Engineer to support the site's PSM program in Los Angeles, CA. The Process Safety Engineer will partner with plant teams and the larger safety team to manage/improve site compliance at the refinery.

The Role:

• Lead site Process Safety team and support site Operations team.
• Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs) to ensure all processes comply with OSHA standards.
• Provide advice and guidance on all process safety management elements
• Collaborate with the larger safety team to ensure a high level of OSHA/PSM compliance.
• Interact directly with regulatory agencies (EPA, OSHA).

The Candidate:

• B.S. Degree in a technical discipline, preferably Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years PSM experience in refinery or petrochemical environment
• Must have excellent communication and multitasking skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead and educate team members on the importance of Process Safety
