THE OPPORTUNITY
Primient is seeking a proactive and dedicated Process Safety Engineer Intern to contribute to our Combustible Dust Safeguards project. This role offers an extraordinary opportunity for students actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in an Engineering discipline, with a preference for Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. The intern will work closely with our Process Safety Engineering team and operating staff to advance the project as far as possible within the available timeframe, from idea origination towards installation and commissioning.

What We Offer:
In this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in process safety engineering and project management within a dynamic industry setting. You will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges and contribute to a vital safety project.
This internship comes with a $3000 Housing/Travel stipend in addition to an hourly wage of $22.00 and you will receive professional development through the 11-week program.
Must possess valid work authorization for the US. We are not offering sponsorship for this role.
ITEMS TO NOTE
This is a 40 hour per week/Full Time role.
This role is On-Site - 5 days a week in our Decatur, IL Plant
Internship will run from May 19th though August 1st.
There is no guarantee of full-time placement at the conclusion of this internship.

- Participate in the installation of Combustible Dust Safeguards.
- Assist in the preparation for Process Safety Audits.
- Conduct hazard assessments and risk analyses.
- Develop and implement process safety procedures.
- Assist with incident investigations and root cause analyses.
ABOUT YOU
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of process safety principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
