The Process Safety Management (PSM) Specialist ensures the company is meeting regulatory compliance obligations of both OSHA PSM regulations (29 CFR 1910.119) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) rules (40 CFR 68). The successful candidate will achieve this through implementation of a PSM safety management system and collaboration with operations, maintenance, engineering, and management teams.

Responsibilities:
• Ensures compliance with Process Safety Management regulations and be audit-ready
• Maintains and keep current Process Safety Information (PSI)
• Facilitates Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) of specified processes
• Facilitates Management of Change (MOC) review process
• Facilitates Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) Process
• Manages list of PSSR action items and ensures timely closure
• Ensures contractors in covered process areas are properly qualified
• Ensures processes adhere to stated performance standards (e.g. NFPA, ASME, API, ANSI)
• Conducts routine inspections of PSM elements to prevent deviation
• Coordinates triennial Compliance Audits
• Manages list of PSM-related audit findings, inspection issues, PSM incidents/near miss corrective actions, and ensures timely closure of these items
• Manages PSM related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and helps set goals and objectives for Continuous Improvement of PSM
• Prepares and manage annual budget for PSM related activities
• Anticipates regulatory changes or industry practices and how those will impact business operations
• Advises Health & Safety Leader and management on Process Safety Issues
• Other assigned duties

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required in Chemical, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or related field required
• Professional certification / aspiration (ASP/CSP, CIH) a plus
• 2+ years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety, Process Safety Management, Chemical Engineering, or similar technical role

Knowledge/Skills:
• MS Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong knowledge of and experience working with OSHA regulations and industry standards such as ACGIH, NIOSH, NFPA, ANSI
• Knowledge in advanced manufacturing technology (automation) and chemicals
• Must be comfortable working in a team setting
• Skill in analyzing and evaluating technical data, test results, and reports
• Positive attitude, self-driven, strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing goals
• Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills
• Ability to work flexible hours occasionally

Additional Requirements:
• This role requires up to 10% of travel (domestic, with potential international)
