Monument Chemical in Brandenburg, KY is seeking qualified candidates for a Process Safety Manager.
DUTIES
The Process Safety Manager will perform a wide variety of duties essential to the manufacture of chemical products while consistently adhering to all established safety and operating procedures. This includes but is not limited to:
· Develop, implement, manage, improve site Process Safety and PSM programs
· Manage, coordinate, and implement all 14 elements of the OSHA Process Safety Management standard

· Ensure Mechanical Integrity Program is well defined and implemented
· Lead PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) and LOPA (Layers of Protection Analysis) activities for existing and new processes. Create specific PHA trainings for site personnel. Train engineers to lead PHA, LOPAs.
· Provide leadership, counsel, and technical assistance to site management and staff in the field of process safety management
· Provide Process Safety Review for MOC program
· Participate on teams responsible for implementing new products and processes
· Assist facility leaders in RCI (Root Cause Investigation) and look for additional opportunities to spread learnings beyond the
investigated event. Accountable for process safety driven actions, implementation, execution, and measures of effectiveness
· Enhance and develop KPIs as they pertain to process safety
· Accountable for developing a schedule and educating the workforce on process safety via presentations, tool box talks, etc. Assess
the work force's understanding regularly for process safety understanding · Represent company in industry panels and safety committees regarding major site chemicals and/or technologies
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Chemical or Safety Engineering or related field.
- 5-10 years of engineering experience in the chemical industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, personal rapport are required to effectively coach internal staff engaged in process safety activities.
- Knowledge of state/federal EPA and OSHA compliance requirements. Desirable knowledge of other regulatory areas NFPA, DOT, NEC, ASME.
- Proficient in PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) and LOPA (Layers of Protection Analysis).
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment including interactions with technical staff, administrative staff, business team leaders, and contract personnel.
- Ability to challenge the organization in a manner that maintains trust and respect.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to present complex topics in a concise manner.
- Ability to lead a project or technical team.
- Ability to accept and respond to changes and challenges in a positive manner.

- Must have generic competencies of analytical thinking, communication and interpersonal understanding, initiative, teamwork and team leadership, and quality orientation/attention to detail.
- Experience with highly hazardous chemicals such as Ethylene Oxide (EO), Propylene Oxide (PO), Acrylonitrile (ACN), Styrene, Ammonia, and others highly preferred.
