Process Scientist - OQSIE

About the Job
The scientist will join a team of scientists, engineers, and post-doctoral students and
interns with a spectrum of skill sets.
The day to day scientific duties of the position will be to aid in the execution of experiments
with several types of perfusion bioreactors for 2L to 100L scales. The position may also require use
of analytical equipment capable of determining some performance parameters for
mammalian cell culture. Such equipment may include a Nova Flex analyzer, Cedex
cell counters, blood gas analyzers, and others. The position will also use
bioreactor control equipment such as Finesse or Applikon. The position will
also interface with analytical scientists to provide samples, descriptions, and
analyses. The position will also make up solutions and growth media for
mammalian cell culture. Training for the routine use of these instruments will
be provided.
Skills:
some lab experience, ideally with sterile fermentation techniques
Use of weighing scales, pipettes, mixers, and other liquid handling
instruments
Experience using Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel,
and preferably OneNote and Microsoft Project
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Education:
BS or BA in a biological related science 0-2 years of industry experience.
