Position Description
Join Applied Medical and be at the forefront of revolutionizing medical device manufacturing. As a Process Technician I, you will be responsible for all molding set up operations in the respective work area and maintaining machinery running production orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performance Expectation:Consistently adhere to Applied Manufacturing's Quality Systems (OS) and safety protocols. Must be able to understand standards as specified by engineering drawings, Mis, SOPs, etc.
- Proficiency in Injection Molding and Related Equipment: Demonstrate a minimum of two years of experience or equivalent expertise in injection molding processes, mold set-ups, and auxiliary equipment such as Part Collectors and Chillers. Effectively troubleshoot and resolve basic molding issues.
- Collaborative and Clear Communication:Work effectively with Team Members, Team Leaders, and other departments (IPI, Quality Inspection) to ensure smooth operations and production. Timely reporting of hazards, process improvements, and facility issues. Maintain shop order management via ALS to communicate with Set-up Technicians and Material Handling Team Members.
- Equipment Maintenance and DocumentationPerform entry-level maintenance and cleaning of molds and other machinery, following preventive maintenance protocols. Maintain accurate and clear documentation, including calibration logs and machine status. Work with Maintenance to ensure proper machine tagging and applicable repairs are completed and documented.
Performance Objectives:
Within your first 60 days:
- Complete all Applied Learning foundational courses with a passing grade of 95% or above, demonstrating rapid integration into company processes.
- Review process documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Complete basic trainings needed for new access on the machines.
- Understand plant layouts for machines, warehouse, maintenance, personnel.
- Collaborate with all cross functional teams to understand the inner workings.
- Knowledge of line clearance and traceability.
Within 90 days to one year:
- Demonstrate basic processing abilities during the run.
- Knowledge of variety of materials used in the plant.
- Understand d-forms and all of the processing parameters cause/effects.
- Knowledge of non-conformances and how to process out the errors.
- If cannot process out the non-conformances, understand the proper protocol.
- Address multiple machine alarms, start-ups, shut-downs in a cell.
Position Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Read, write, and speak in English.
- Entry level ability to work with ALS and SAP systems.
- Entry level experience of mold preventative maintenance and cleaning.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred
- Applicants should have two years of experience in injection molding and robot position programming.
- Knowledge of mold set ups and basic resin properties related to molding.
- Basic understanding of mold preventative maintenance and cleaning.
