Job Summary
As the Process Technician, the successful candidate will lead and coordinate activities directed at continuous improvement and optimization of process parameters, tooling as well as equipment in the injection molding department. These activities are to be conducted while ensuring and maximizing safety and environmental, product quality, production output, housekeeping, and cost control to achieve plant goals
Principal Responsibilities
- Manage projects related to process improvement as related to equipment, tooling, and production procedures
- Conduct technical training in the molding department for machine operators
- Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimize utilization, documenting process parameters both electronically and on paper
- Maintain quality standards by complying with the Approved
- Compounds/Components List, Quality Control Manual, and ISO procedures
- Test new tooling and equipment to check process efficiency and measure results
- Identify, report, and follow-up on maintenance related issues by use of the work order system
- Assist in the start-up and troubleshooting of process related problems with production equipment, tooling, and auxiliary equipment
- Assist the Production Manager in the review the master schedule supplied by the Production Planner daily for planning the labor resources, machine utilization, and change over activities
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- 2 year degree in Engineering or 3-5 years equivalent working experience
- PVC Plastics experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of blending raw materials and the injection molding process & tooling
- A proven track record in a continuous improvement manufacturing environment with ISO 9001
- Excellent leadership/management, written & verbal communication, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- A strong working knowledge of computers using word processing and spreadsheets
