Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Mail Services and IT Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage the processing, sorting, and distribution of mail, packages, and assist IT with user computing and conference room audio needs for the company. You will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the efficiency of our mail services operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages to appropriate departments or individuals.
- Prepare outgoing mail and packages, including labeling, weighing, and proper postage application.
- Operate office equipment such as postage meters, scanners, and fax machines.
- Maintain records of incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and shipments.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure efficient mail distribution.
- Track and log deliveries and shipments for accountability.
- Maintain a clean and organized mailroom.
- Assist with inventory management of mailing supplies.
- Handle inquiries related to mail and package tracking.
- Document and log IT support requests, ensuring timely resolutions.
- Install and disconnect desktop monitors and assist IT in staff moves.
- Assist in the set-up of conference room audio-visual equipment.
- Monitor and repair Xerox copiers on each floor. Facilitate service requests as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in mail services or a similar office/clerical role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel to NAR conferences.
